The commemorative gala will honor the ten original founders of the Hovnanian school

A commemorative gala will be held at the Rockleigh Country Club to honor the ten original founding members. The program will also include an acknowledgment of Dr. Gregory T. Simonian who dedicated five years of his life serving as Chairman.

The guest of honor will be a Bulgarian native, Mr. Aso Tavitian, the former CEO of Syncsort and also the founder of the Tavitian Foundation. He spent many years being involved with philanthropy in education and the arts. Tavitian graduated with a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from Columbia University and established his foundation in honor of one of his teachers who made anonymous financial contributions toward his education. The kind gesture was so moving that he wanted to the same for others one day.

Mr. Aso Tavitian will be present as the guest of honor

The Tavitian Foundation provides funding to students of Armenian descent offering them educational opportunities. The majority of these students are now working professionals with successful careers who studied at the Fletcher School of Law & International Diplomacy. The ultimate aim of the program is to contribute towards better governance of the Republic of Armenia.

The foundation is committed to enhancing students’ educational opportunities along with the vision and philosophy of Hovnanian School. Tavitian was awarded the Movses Khorenatsi Medal by the Prime Minister of Armenia for the significant contributions made by the foundation. Tativian’s dedication towards providing better opportunities to young students makes him the obvious choice as the guest of honor at the school’s gala.
